Vilnius, April 15th. Mr. Arturas Paulauskas, acting President of the Republic of Lithuania, received today Mr. Yevgeni Marchuk, Ukrainian Minister of Defence.
The participants of the meeting discussed Lithuanian-Ukrainian co-operation, implementation of democratic reforms in Ukraine, Lithuanias experience of integrating into the European Union and NATO, as well as other topical issues.
Acting President Arturas Paulauskas expressed hope that accelerating democratic reforms in Ukraine would speed up the countrys integration into the European political mainstream.
Lithuania stands ready to share with Ukraine its experience of integrating into the European Union and NATO, and to enhance co-operation in the field of defence reforms, the acting President of Lithuania underlined.
On April 18th, acting President Arturas Paulauskas will be leaving on the official visit to Ukraine.
